Evelyn Mae Charley

Evelyn Mae Charley, 85, of Gallup, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Born in Tohatchi in 1941, Evelyn spent more than three decades as a weaver whose rugs traveled far from the high desert.

She was a fixture at the flea market on Saturdays, known for her green chile stew and for remembering every name.

Survived by her sons Wilson and Ray, her daughter Lenora, eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
